A warm quartzite in cream and white shot through with gold and amber — brighter and more energetic than the quieter Brazilian whites, and held here in depth.

Quarried in Brazil and shipped to Melbourne as full slabs, from the same south-eastern quartzite belt that produces most of the exotic pale stone on the market.
A pale cream to white base carrying gold, amber and honey veining, generally with more movement and more colour contrast than a Taj Mahal or a Mont Blanc. Some lots lean bright and clearly golden, others softer and more beige. Tone shifts noticeably between blocks, so the lots on this page are photographed one by one.
Kitchen benchtops and islands, splashbacks, bathroom vanities and feature walls — particularly where brass, bronze or warm timber finishes are already in the scheme. It is used outdoors in sheltered applications, though tone can shift with prolonged direct sun.
Quartzite is dense and comparatively forgiving, but it is still natural stone: seal on installation and periodically thereafter, wipe spills rather than letting them sit, use a pH-neutral cleaner and avoid abrasive pads. Our general care and maintenance guide covers this in full.
Both are warm Brazilian quartzites. Taj Mahal is the quieter of the two — gentle gold and taupe veining on a cream ground. Aurora Gold carries more colour and more contrast, with the gold drawn more clearly. If Taj Mahal is the calm choice, Aurora Gold is the one that becomes the feature of the room.
Yes — a metamorphic rock formed from sandstone. That makes it substantially harder than marble and far less reactive to the acidic things that etch a marble benchtop, such as lemon juice, wine and some cleaning products.
Not in normal interior use. True quartzite is generally UV-stable. Some natural stones do shift tone under years of direct sun — worth weighing for outdoor applications or a surface under a very large north-facing window, and worth asking your fabricator about for the specific lot.
Yes. It handles daily kitchen use well and is heat tolerant. Trivets remain sensible since thermal shock and sustained heat can affect any stone.
Yes. 6 lots of Aurora Gold quartzite are in our Dandenong South gallery as at 10 October 2026. Stock on this page is generated from our live warehouse data, so what you see is what is on the racks.
We currently hold Aurora Gold in honed and polished finishes. Finish availability changes with each shipment — the lots listed above are what is here now.
Slabs run up to roughly 3.3 × 2.0 metres, in 20mm thickness. Natural stone is cut block by block, so dimensions vary between lots — each lot above lists its own.
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Aurora Gold is on display at 37–39 Gaine Road, Dandenong South, open Monday to Friday 7:30am–4:30pm and Saturday 8:45am–2pm. Every lot is photographed individually so you can shortlist online first, then view the slabs in person.
